| I know my brother-in-law will faint when he finds I'm actually putting in a new blog. But he's the only one who reads this so maybe he will enjoy it.
I'm getting real anxious about this baby and I'm only 3 months along. There are so many decisions to make! Are we going to schedule the baby? Are we going to put the baby in the crib right away or bassinet or sleep in the bed w/us (OK, that last thing is not an option)? Will the things that we do early on affect the child's developmental process? Will the decisions we make determine if the baby will be independent or dependent forever? I should really stop reading all these books and magazines because really, everybody has a different opinion. Oh well. This is what's blowing through my pregnant mind today!
| Still waiting on that little girl to make herself known to this world. Here's a thought that has come to mind after watching a high school bball game:
Females, by nature, are the ones who nurture, comfort, encourage, family "cheerleader" so-to-speak. Is this something we progam into our children at a young age? I mean, I'm watching this girls' bball game and the guys that are playing next are spread out all over the gym, if they are even in the gym. As soon as the girls' game ends, the girls have to run to the locker room, after playing their hearts out, to fix their hair & put on their cheerleading outfits. They are then expected to sit together in the stands and cheer for the boys' game. Yes, we are natural cheerleaders but who's cheering for our girls? Are we teaching them that their interests, talents and gifts are not worth cheering for??? I have a neice entering this world in a matter of days if not hours. I do not want her growing up thinking that she always has to cheer and never cheered for.
| This is my first blog ever. I've been debating whether or not to jump in and join the rest of the world and today my brother-in-law pushed me off the diving board. He's a good guy. He's about to become a father for the second time and I can't wait for that little girl to get here. I'm sure my sister is more ready than the rest of us but I'm DYING to see her!!
Ya know, I used to be up w/the latest technology and always had the newest cell phone and junk. Well, now that I live in the sticks, I've been without a cell phone for 1 year, 3 months and 9 days. I actually have to "go to town" to get good groceries and a quarter-pounder w/cheese. I've lived in Chicago, DC, visited 5 different countries and never dreamed I'd live in a small west Texas town. I love it though. The people here are nice for the most part! Ok, gotta figure the rest of this stuff out.
